The following new and exciting improvements have just been made to the Smack the Pixie gameplay...
- Revised offer system: Offers are now fairer and more balanced
- Trap and Stick Offers: Occasionally The Pixie may decide to make you a deliberately unfair offer (Trap Offer) which is designed to force you into playing on and knocking out the big numbers! The Pixie may now also decide to Stick with his previous offer
- Power = Respect: For every round you manage to keep hold of the ?250,000 your respect will increase, resulting in bigger and better offers

| Respect System Introduced - Earn Better Offers! | 1 Jul 06 |
As some of you have probably already noticed, a new `Respect System` has been introduced to the Smack the Pixie gameplay. The `Respect System` works in tandem with the Banker`s current mood to determine the generosity of the offers you receive...
Respect can be gained and lost during the gameplay, and you have a seperate Respect score for each individual Banker - at the end of each game with any given Banker your Respect score is carried across to your next game with that Banker...
You can GAIN respect by:
- Beating The Banker
- Having a good (all-Blue) round
- Having at least 4 of the `Big 5` numbers still in play in Round 4
- Making it to the end of the game with at least 1 of the `Big 5` numbers still in play
- Turning down a very generous offer when The Banker is in a good mood
You can LOSE respect by:
- Failing to Beat The Banker
- Having a bad (all-Red) round
- Wiping out all of the `Big 5` numbers by Round 4
- Revealing 2 or more of the `Big 5` numbers in a single Round
- Turning down a very generous offer when The Banker is in a bad mood
It is hoped that the introduction of this new system will give canny players the chance to squeeze better offers out of the Bankers. Should the Banker be in a bad mood it no longer means that you`re going to be stuck with crap offers; it just means that you`ll have to work harder to get the good ones! |

Just a follow-up note to let you all know that Smack the Pixie is now back up and running! Great news for you; bad news for Pixies...
For those of you who didn`t know, the game went down yesterday due to a technical issue which has since been resolved...
May we suggest that you log yourself in right now, and take out your frustrations at having been deprived of a fix for 24 hours by making the first Smack an extra hard one!? See if you can`t draw some blood... |

Three new Leaderboard types have now been added - take a stroll on over to the Leaderboard and you`ll now find (in addition to the Global Rankings) a 1p Club, a ?250,000 Club, and a Best Blue Run Leaderboard (which ranks players according to the most number of Blues they have revealed in succession)...
OK so a high placement in the 1p Club isn`t exactly enviable, but more Leaderboards to conquer means more justification than ever for spending an entire afternoon sat in front of your PC smacking the pixie... |
| Bonus Points System introduced... | 26 May 06 |
Introducing the all-new Smack the Pixie Bonus Points System: Bonus points can be accumulated by revealing a chain of Blues in succession, or by revealing the 1p at an early stage of the game (e.g. 10000 points for revealing it in Round 1, 5000 for Round 2, etc)...
The original scoring system (which measures the average of total cash won over total games played) tended to favour people who only played a couple of games, and penalised those who play regularly! Although the core scoring system remains unchanged, the introduction of Bonus Points should give those of us who are dwindling in the rankings the chance to catch up... |

As you may or may not have noticed; a few sound effects have now been implemented into the Smack the Pixie game...
Please note that for sound effects to work you must be using either Internet Explorer Version 5 or later, or Netscape with LiveAudio plugin...
If you find that the sound effects are slowing down in-game performance, or if you just find them too annoying, you have the option of disabling them on the Pre-Game Set-Up screen... |
| Bug Fix: No more `0p` nightmares... | 26 May 06 |
Those of you who have had the grim misfortune of making it right to the end of the game with 2 high sums of money left in play, only to be informed that your Box contains `0p` will be pleased to know that this nuisance bug has now been squashed. Good and proper.
But, please, no more emails requesting that we credit ?250,000 to your account as compensation for making it to the end of the game with the two highest sums of money in play only to encounter the `0p` bug... because we simply don`t believe you. :) |
